What It Takes
The What It Takes award ceremony took place on 19th March 2007 at a formal event at Leeds Town Hall where Sir Norman Bettinson, the chief constable of West Yorkshire Police presented the awards.
There were 4 sub regional winners and these were :
Humber
Albert Marson Court Anti Social Behaviour Team - Scunthorpe :the aim of project is to reduce incidents of anti-social behaviour in Albert Marson Court, Earls Walk, Beauchamp Walk and Talbot Walk by 15%.
North Yorkshire
Trafalgar Square Community Improvement Project - Scarborough : the project assists the community in improving their neighbourhood by a sequence of improvements that they would arrange in partnership with the local authority and with initial help from the Urban Renaissance Office and the Regeneration Department of the council.

City Angels (anti bullying project) - Sheffield : the City Angels Group of young women and key workers advertise, recruit and train ‘buddys’, who mentor vulnerable young people at risk of being bullied. Once they are identified an intensive ‘buddying’ programme is designed and delivered.
West Yorkshire
West Dewsbury Neighbourhood Management Group : the project brings together a wide range of partners who sign up to be ‘tasked’ by the group to address current crime and anti social behaviour. The tasking leads to a multi faceted approach to problem solving.
Each of these winners received a certificate and £5,000 in support of their activities and each has agreed to act as a 'beacon' for others and share their good practice.
From these winners the overall winner was identified as the West Dewsbury Neighbourhood Management Group for which they received a trophy and a further £15, 000 in recognition of the excellent work that they are doing in their communities and indeed demonstrating that they have What It Takes!
