Regional Partnership/ Early Support
Regional Partnership/ Early Support
The Regional Partnership is co-located in GOYH. The main aim of the partnership is to improve outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), disabilities and children in care, through voluntary collaborative working by the 15 Local Authorities and their partners. The Partnership, which is funded by the DfES, has an annual action plan based on priorities determined by the partners in our region and by the DfES.
“Early Support” provides advice and guidance to Local Authorities on services for disabled children in early years. It is a central government programme for achieving better coordinated, family-focused services for very young disabled children and their families. A regional consultant has been appointed during 2006 to help co-ordinate and develop their activities more effectively and to share good practice across the region.
