Annual show gives Landowners chance for more secure future

Published: Fri, 11 Jan 2008 09:46:00

Farmers can find out more about securing the future of their land at the Lincolnshire Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing Association's annual exhibition, on 16 and 17 January 2008.

Representatives from Land Registry will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the benefits of voluntary land registration at the event, at Newark and Nottingham Showground, Winthorpe, Newark.

In North Lincolnshire 49 per cent of land remains unregistered and in Lincolnshire 45% remains unregistered. In England and Wales the amount of unregistered land is just over 37% per cent.

State-backed registration gives owners better protection and helps simplify the process of buying and selling land. Landowners also know the administration of their land is in good order with key information in one place and easy to access.
Landowners who act now to register their land voluntarily will benefit from a 25 per cent discount on the registration fee.
